Just about at Kime hut, perfect calm conditions and moonlight on the snow meant we didn't even need our torches!

New South Ohau hut. Built just next door to the old hut site, but hopefully far enough along to avoid the slip. It is nice and sunny and a pleasant enough hut in a scummy little catchment.
Sleeps: 12 or so on bench bunks.

Aokaparangi Biv. Situated at the bushedge on the eastern side of Aokaparangi
Sleeps: 2 on comfortable wooden bunks, and there is comfortable room for 2 on the floor.
Heating: None, but it is double glazed.
Camping: Some tops camping nearby (lots of long tussock).

This weekend we have the first regular weekend tramp of the 2009 calendar. Its a trip to check out the recent work done on one of the older huts in the Tararua ranges, Dorset Ridge hut, a standard forest service hut just off the tops on Dorset Ridge.
