  • Day Trip on monday 3/6 (hopefully to fide some snow)

So I thought it would be great to get out on a day trip on monday, probably of a vage ''M'' grading. If someone has a car I like the sound of going up mt holdsworth, but mt hector (or at least kime) is equaly possible. If no-one has a car I think the choice is limeted to Mt reeves or kapakapanui, of these two kapakapanui is a much nicer track ...

  • Live the track, breath the track, eat the track for breakfast. A sub-30 PK.

What better way to spend Valentines day than with a couple of good mates thrashing yourself half to death along the Tararua tops.  That’s what Kieran, Ben and I thought anyway.   After 4hrs sleep at Putara (thanks to Guy for camping with us and taking that gear back to Wellington!) we were away.  Having done a previous PK ...

  • Re: The picnic is back!

Also, in this vein, trying to sign the hut books at Herepai, Drac, Andersons, Maungahuka, Kime and Alpha within one 24hr period is quite doable, however getting right out to Kaitoke within that same period was just a touch too far.  cheers Kieran and Ben that was a great trip!  and big ups to Guy and Belle - sounds trite but couldn't ...

  • Re: Extended pre-Christmas trip

Further, or in addition to this would anyone be keen to shadow a Duke of Edinburgh tramping party? They are a keen group of 1st year venturers trying to finish their Gold Duke of Edinburgh.  They would like to complete their gold tramp before the end of January but need to do a practice tramp first and then notify the DoE 6 weeks prior to the ...
