    Carkeek

    yo yo

    so
I went to the huts meeting and had a chat about the fact that Carkeek is a wee tad moldy.  The guy in charge of that area had heard about it, but wasn't quite sure why the mold was happening, as there are plenty of huts of this design without the problem.  He was quite keen to have a group go and have a look, and see if they could try and figure out what the problem could be, and how it could be solved.

I'd be keen to go and have a look, possibly take some anti mold stuff, or bleach and try and clean up the mattresses etc a bit, take some photos, record the problems and report back.

If anyone is keen to come and help out it would be much appreciate.  Currently I'm thinking not this or next week, but maybe week or weekend after.

I'd be up for that as well, fairly flexible on dates.

    Re: Carkeek

There is a trip to Carkeek on the calendar for Labour Weekend (24 - 27 October). I found it to be a pretty awesome trip from Mitre flats so I'd be keen to go again, only I can't make it on Labour weekend.

Re: Carkeek or climbing as labour weekend is this weekend

Defiantly not taking the glory away from the glory of Carkeek, but with labour weekend being this weekend a suggested alternative for those who are looking for another type of glory

    CLIMBING or stuff

So under climbing or stuff, I may suggest a boozy long climbing weekend at exotic central north island location(s). Visiting some hot pools or even maybe visiting some mountains or for that matter anything else that is suggested.  Something easy going for anyone and everyone.

If you are keen to help me form a contingent for the glorious alternative!  Send me a message or email or invite me around for dinner (yes I am an optimist!)

Don't forget the possibility of meeting up with AUTC on Ruapehu. http://vuwtc.org.nz/cs/forums/thread/3735.aspx

It'd be great to have a group up there for that, but I can understand that it's a regular spot for us to head to and that a longer weekend presents opportunities for something a bit different...
