    Andersons Memorial hut.  Situated at the bush egde on the main range just below Junction Knob. Sleeps: 6 on comfortable wooden bunks. Heating: A new potbelly. Camping: Some tops camping nearby (can be swampy and lots of long tussock).

  • Herepai Hut

    Herepai hut is 1.5-3 hrs from Putara roadend and is a good friday night destination for exploring Dundas ridge and the headwaters of the Ruamahanga, it is also the first hut on the modern Putara-Kaitoke (P-K) trip.  A Tararua rite of passage is a weekend P-K. Sleeps: 12 on two bench bunks. Heating: A potbelly. Camping: No.
