    Post exam pre AIC madness

    Hi,

I am hoping to do something from about the 17th-19th of June as I will be mad from study and wanting to get out! I am looking for others to join me in some form of adventure - tramping, climbing, biking (though I'm not very good and all you hard out bikers would get very annoyed waiting for me), anything else or a combination of the above. So if anyone has any great ideas that would be fantastic, otherwise I should think up something by then. It is all very tentative though as it relies on an improvement in my health.

    Thanks,

    Terra

    Hello,

Jess, what dates were you thinking up heading up into the snow (if it is there by then...). Becuase I would definitly be keen, I have been terribly snow deprived over the past 5 years!

Ollie, my level of crazieness all depends on my health - if it isn't up there, I'm thinking rock climbing might be the calling as it isn't as taxing as tramping/alpine stuff - otherwise I am up for something pretty crazy! :)

Hey Guys, I'm up for some action on the mountain (the snow kind). As you know, I have mid week free so if you were looking at going up then, count me in, plus I've got wheels so transport's sorted.

    Hi Ollie,

I've just found out I have an interview on Tuesday morning, so would that give us enough time to go to Mangatepopo or not?? And if we do, I will require some seriouse quizing on the importance of the antartic environment!

cool, well i need advance warning of when we actually want to go up - need to tell work that im going awol... though telling them makes it not really awol does it....

what type of job are you appliyng for? did a paper on antarctica last year so now know all about the importance of the antarctic environment... like its the only place in the world where overall glacier advance is greater than glacier retreat!

Re: Post exam pre AIC madness

    Hello Ollie,

I'm keen to head up whenever you are. Saturday after Andreas grading some time maybe??

The interview is for Antartica Youth Ambassador. Its run by the Sir Peter Blake Trust. They fund a person to go to antartica to do conservation work over the summer. So I am both very excited and very nervouse about the interview! So teach me all!!! :)

What do I need to bring? Tent? Stove? Are we going to do a grocerie shopping spree on the way out or should I stock up on stuff?? Are we going to be tramping in to where we spend the night?

    Have a super day,

    Terra
