• Friday night end of year party!

Hey everyone, Its been ages since the coolest flat in brooklyn had a big, no nonsense, drink and dance the night away type party! In fact so long that newbies to the club this year won't have had the experience! So come along 8pm this Friday (ie tomorrow) and bring a crate, a bottle or something else to drink - our address is 91A Karepa St, but ...

  • Re: CLIMB CLIMB CLIMB

If the snow was decent you could probably ski tour a lot of it - but as I discovered on the weekend, even relatively gentle slopes with ice on are tricky, and the skins don't really seem to grip... and result in you sliding back down the mountain! Ski crampons would be a great idea... All the peaks are skiiable downhill in the right ...

  • Re: Next Tuesday meeting

How many people watch outrageous fortune? If its just a few you can come round to our place in Brooklyn after the pub - only if you're outrageuos fortune fans however (you might have to answer a question at the door)! We're saving the big party til this weekend after Sarah has finished uni...

How bout: all 12 summits in a day? (Dome, Paretetaitonga, Te Atua, Tahurangi, Girdlestone, Mitre, L-peak, Pyramid, Cathedral Rocks, Te Heuheu, Tukino and Glacier Knob) Its very doable, especially if you walked/skinned up the night before, dump your ski stuff and go for a wander. Don't bother with ropes or pro, its just extra weight :) Do the ...

  • Re: Mountain adventures this weekend?

Hey everyone, just thought Id put out a possible plan for those that expressed interest in the weekend (and some who didnt but might be keen). It would be cool to go up from Turoa I reckon, both cause the weathers supposed to be better in the east (less wind) and we hardly ever go from there! Im intending to go up on Friday with ...

  • Mountain adventures this weekend?

Hey, the weather looks like it might be quite decent this weekend so is anyone up for some mountain adventures? I have the loose plan of going skiing on Friday at Turoa, but after that am pretty flexible so could meet up with others just keen for the weekend! Some ideas could be: climb Taranaki and camp on the top wander up ...
