Hey I'm pretty keen to get out again this weekend and make the most of the fantastic weather we've been having lately! I was thinking of an overnight trip Saturday/Sunday into Arete Fx. It would involve walking into Mitre Flats, over Mitre (highest point in the Tararuas) and down to Arete Fx Hut for the night, with a splash down the Waingawa river the next day (probably not enough water to bother with tubing).

Will travel fairly light and fast but depends whose keen, could have a couple of groups even... let me know if you're interested.
