No idea what species this is, but there were quite a few hopping around the Makaroro river (on Hawkes Bay side of the Ruahines). They were quite small, picked one up in the palm of my hand!

This weekend its time to get back into the hills.
I'm keen to organise a trip this weekend into either the Tararuas or Ruahines leaving Friday night from the Hunter car park and getting back sometime on Sunday evening. The trip will probably be about a medium level but depends on keenness of those ...

Ruahine Corner sounds pretty kinky... Won't be able to make it around that time, though, which is a real shame. (Finally I will be moving into my new flat - next weekend... yay! ...and will be in Hamilton the weekend after...Pretty stuffed.) -Have fun and don't get lost :)
