Hi there!
Just got aware, that the southern crossing is on the calendar next weekend.I'd love to do a day trip, preferably via Quoin Ridge. Anyone joining?
With another weekend trip group, we could organize a car swap.

So, we are back from the Kahurangi Ranges.
We've left on Tuesday (1.1.2013), heading into the Anatoki Valley - not really hang over from New Year celebration at the Mussle Inn, but late enough. Powell Hut is on the Holdsworth-Jumbo-Circuit (which is good for a weekend or one day). Visitors welcome!
Don't be confused with the booking system... ...

Hi!
I'm keen on going to the Kahurangis (i.e the mountain range NW of the south island with the Heaphy Track).
I'll start at the 28th from Wellington, taking a ferry in the evening and try to hitch-hike to the start. I guess, I will make a stop at Paynes Ford 4km south of Takaka (see Craig's post).
My plans are not fixed right now, preferably ...

Hi Craig and all others!
I'm up for some Kahurangi (that's the 'Heaphy-Track Range') adventures. - Preferably off the great walks, e.g Douglas Range, Arthur Range, Leslie-Karamea-Track... separate post to be written. That would be pretty close to Paynes Ford.
I can't join you guys on the 26th, because I'll be on Powell Hut till 28th, maybe ...
