  • re: Tramping club going ons and the AGM

Oh and as an added incentive to come along next Tuesday there will be free pizza from a bit after 7! So be there or be square! And keep Tuesday the 16th free in your diaries for the last supper, where we all go out and terrorise a restaurant for the evening!

  • Study break escapades!!

Hey guys Just wondering if anyone's keen for a 3-4 day trip sometime over the study break/exam period? You can't study for an entire month after all!! Don't really have any ideas where, but Ruapehu has had 30cm of new snow in the last two days.. And can't really afford ferry crossings at the moment...

  • Mid-exam party!

Hey all, The coolest flat in Wellington has come up with several excuses for a dress-up party- exam distraction, Soph's birthday and the fact we haven't had a party in ages! So come along from 8pm on Saturday 27th to the top flat of 29 Garden Road, Northland. The theme for all the dress ups is ''wild, wild west'' and should be an excellent night!

  • Re: Kapakapanui this weekend?`

Hey yeah will try and sort it all out over email instead of clogging up everyone's inboxes- if you're keen and haven't signed up yet so didn't get the email I sent this morning- the plan is to do an overnight trip up Kapakapanui from Saturday morning til Sunday night. Drop me an email if you're keen!

  • Re: Peak 2 Powderkeg

Although that does sound like excellent fun, don't forget we're doing our leadership weekend and you're all meant to be coming on that!! However I reckon there's potential to do a VUWTC version of the race, perhaps during study break, and perhaps involving Petey the Pirate Ship as part of it....

  • Tisdall's closing down sale

Have just had an email from Tisdall's, who are closing down after 118 years. They're having a massive clearance sale, with 20-70% off everything, although they didn't specify how long this sale is going on for. Anyway so if you're after some snazzy new tramping gear (or stuff like fly fishing tackle) would be worth checking out...

  • Tramping club going ons and the AGM

Hey all! Hope you had a merry weekend and your calves aren't as achy as mine after too many Taranaki staircases!! If you're keen for the hills, I'm organising a Kapakapanui tramp this weekend and we've got our leadership weekend next weekend which is going to be mean!! Anyway come have a chat to me tomorrow night to find out more.... Speaking of ...

  • Leadership weekend 12-14 October

Yo ho ho! Right it's all confirmed, the VUWTC leadership weekend will be going down from Friday 12 until Sunday 14 October. The weekend will be based round an off-track tramp with very small groups and everyone having a go leading and navigating. The weekend is aimed at people who know what they're doing with a compass and we can use as a leader ...

  • VUWSA elections

Hey to all the current students... Just a reminder that voting for the VUWSA elections is going on this week. You should have received an email outlining how to vote and there's also polling booths in a couple of places round campus (eg: library foyer). There are some pretty serious implications for the tramping club if the A-Team get in, drop me ...

  • Re: come to Ruahines instead!!!!

Glad to see everyone's not quite as mad as people deciding to go away with Kieran- the captain only avoided a mutiny on that trip by cooking everyone pancakes the next morning!! Hope you guys had a good trip to the Tararuas!
