    New North Ohau hut built with help from Swazi and the Horowhenua Hunting club.&nbsp; Situated on a terrace up the North Ohau river. Sleeps: 4 Heating: A vigorous little wood burner Camping: Yes there is some good camping on flats below the hut terrace

    The new Maungahuka on a great day.&nbsp; Perched on the tops of main Tararua range. Sleeps: 10-12 on 2 bench bunks Heating: None, though it is double glazed. Camping:&nbsp; Some tops camping, though of course you'd want weather like this to really enjoy it.

    I agree with Craig, I seriously wouldn't leave my car at M'popo as they are not the ''tap in the little back window and unlock the car and rifle through the glovebox'' type people they are like human keas - they will rip everything apart and then take a dump on it as well (they eat a bit better than keas so it's pretty messy).&nbsp; Probably ...

    Start of 13 days of fine weather, followed by one day of heavy snowfall and another beaut day. &nbsp;In the hills for all of them. &nbsp;Magic. &nbsp;Cold though - the waterfalls all formed into ice climbs on the 1000 Acre Plateau and it hit -13 at Lewis Pass.
