Welcome to 2009 everyone! The start of Semester 1 is drawing near and we're looking for some keen volunteers to help out with the VUWTC stand during club week. Club stands are up between 11am and 2pm each day and we're aiming to be present for three of the five days wowing people with our VUWTC awesomeness (not to mention stories of adventures ...

A couple of us are doing a bit of a leisuring rollerblade ( / skate, whatever you want to call it) around the waterfront and a couple of the bays on Saturday afternoon before jumping in for a swim since the weather should be good. Let me know if you're keen. You don't need your own skates as Ferg's hires them out and so does another wee place ...

Is anyone keen for a day trip this weekend?? I have a few items to do around town so probably won't be heading away climbing for the weekend (as much as I'd like too...) I'm pretty open to suggestions and am thinking of things as varied as a big long run or bike to roller blading along the waterfront and oriental bay to a beach and / or swimming ...

Also if you're only interested in going for a couple of nights I may be heading up on Thursday and back either Saturday night or early Sunday.

I still have all first aid certificates that have not yet been collected. They'll be at meetings from this week.

Thanks for you input guys. I was already in the same camp as the majority but didn't want to put my opinion forward in case is bias results. Yes modern technology is cool and can make life a lot easier. But tramping is very physically and socially orientated and that something we want to be encouraging not detracting from. Thanks agan.
