Just a possibly long winded query, if you've got a minute:
I'm just getting under way on a research project at the architecture school focussing on alpine huts as a 'primitive' form of building outside high architecture. So the moral of the story will be that they are a more honest response to their location than most of the stuff we copy out of books and build in the nextdoor suburb.
So I'm wondering which huts from your average tramping hut - to musterers hut - deer stalkers - ski club hut - roadie hut etc. you think are of significnce or representative of the kiwi alpine hut.
