    Peak 2 Powderkeg

Is anyone interested in doing the peak to powderkeg race? Basically is a race from top of Turoa to the powderhorn in Ohakune. It involves skiing, running, biking and beer sculling so sounds like it would be pretty good fun! Anywho's it's on the 13th of oct. Let me know if you are keen. It costs $50 but you get a half price lift ticket if you don't already have one and there is a bbq etc. at the bottom. You can also do it as a team, need 3 people including one girl (someone can borrow my skirt if you are struggling on that one!).

    Official info:

The world famous (in New Zealand) Peak to Powderkeg is taking place October 13th this year so put it in your diary!  This is a super fun event that involves competitors Skiing/Boarding from the top of the High Noon Express to the base area. Then it’s time to ditch the boots for running shoes as the race continues on foot to the 12.5km point on the Mountain Rd. The final stage is a mad dash cycle to the Powderkeg where the most challenging aspect of the race needs to be completed… the beer skull! You’d be mad to miss it! This event is open for Individuals or Teams. The Peak to PowderKeg is proudly supported by Mt Ruapehu, The Powderhorn Chateau, The SnowCentre, K2 Skis, K2 Snowboards and Spy Optics.

Although that does sound like excellent fun, don't forget we're doing our leadership weekend and you're all meant to be coming on that!! However I reckon there's potential to do a VUWTC version of the race, perhaps during study break, and perhaps involving Petey the Pirate Ship as part of it....

Opps sorry people - I didn't ralise the leadership thing was happening that weekend, so as much fun as it sounds I won't be going on the peak to powderkeg anymore.
