Yes, I suspect the derivation neve route would be cut off anyway based on what we found on arawhata saddle and destiny ridge.  Arawhata saddle had less snow than March 07 and Destiny ridge was unexpectedly cut off at 2080m.  Ripped!!

 Luckily the McCullaugh glacier was ok earlier in the summer and we managed to sneak down that in the clag with a piece of string to stop us if we fell in a slot.
