Hi all,
Rather than the advertised Papatahi crossing we'll just be going for a walk on Saturday. The plan is to head over to the East Harbour, have a short climb up and over a high point (~300m) and drop down the other side into Gollans Stream. We'll then wander / bash / wade / whatever down this for a couple of hours before joining back up with a track out to civilisation and have a nice stroll through Eastbourne back to the car(s).
Alternatively (and ideally) we'll find a likely looking spur to get back up to the ridge and follow that back to the high point.
The plan is to LEAVE the Hunter carpark at 9am, drive the short distance around the harbour and then have approx 6 hours walk. It'll be fairly gentle so you won't have to be super fit, but it should still be fun!
Bring lunch, warm clothes, boots, gaiters if you have them. Expect to get wet feet :)
Let me know if you are keen to come along.
