Here is a great event for you... Some of you may remember those famous cocktail nights that we have had in the past.  Well guess what! Here is another cocktail night that you may or may not be able to remember.

 

So what do you need to know?

 

• This Friday at a Kelburn Venue Mikes place
• There will be Cocktails
• It will be a very good time

 

How does it work?

 

Previously this monumental event has worked by everyone putting in some cash and a couple of us going out and purchasing a monumental amount of cocktail ingredients.  This has always required a large truck and a whole load of debt collecting.

 

So this time it will work this time by the following process:

 

• Decide on the theme (tropical / fruity, milky, something else)
• I will take a sign up sheet or list of people
• Allocate a purchase to people (for example person A B C get a bottle of vodka.  Person D E F get Midori Person G didn’t get anything! They are very bad and will have to sit in the corner)
• Bring along your ingredient(s)
• Let the cocktail making begin

 

What I need from people now!

 

• Let me know if you are coming (gather up all your friends)
• Peoples ideas on what cocktails we want to make
• Any other ideas or themes for the evening

 

 

It will be a super fun night, it always is.  So give up all you other plans for this and greatness will prevail

Just to provide a few more details on this monumental event:

 

• There will be a sign up sheet at the meeting tonight or you can email me later in the week.  Once we have a list of people I will email out further details
• People will be allocated ingredients but this will equate to a value of $10 - $15.  When entering the event all ingredients go on the table.
• The Mill has some pretty good specials on this week
• Some of us will probably rally around to get some pizza / for dinner around 6:30 anyone is welcome to join.

 

Some of the suggestions I have had for cocktails so far are

 

• Martini’s
• Black Russian
• Mojito's
• Long island ice tea

 

So keep the ideas flowing and we will narrow them down to the most workable.

And I think as this is a cocktail party cocktail dresses are a must (for girls and boys!) and I will be bringing extras for all of you who don't have one or conviently forget! And as we are wearing dresses we must dance, so bring your dancing music :)

Cocktail night is shaping up to be brilliant, there is a wide variety of cocktails and solid number of people it will be absolutely awesome. If you are coming you should have probably been in contact with me by now or had an email from me. If there are any queries please feel free to send me an email. Also everyone is equally contributing buying their share of ingredients and that is great. But freeloaders will not be treated kindly and will be turned away at the door. So don't forget your ingredient obligations!
