    Karori/Makara missions

Anyone keen for missions around western suburb hills and Makara.  Day walks, tramping/camping?

Really nice run is to do the typical makara loop - around the bottom of the cliffs to start with (don't go direct to the gun emplacements) - then when you hit the 4wd track to return instead go up the ridge closer to the sea. Good steep climb and cool views all the way along to the dun emplacements and back down to the start. Was out there at sunset a couple of weeks ago - stunning.

Yeah, I'd be keen on going for a walk around this Karori/Makara this weekend. Will try to come to B4 tomorrow. But if not, flick me a text 021 352 513 or email jsun027@gmail.com

Walk around the ridge line of Karori?  Should be half a day.  What day suits everyone?

    hey Andy,

I've decided to go skiing this weekend instead, so can't come on the Karori/Makara mission,  but I'm keen to do a daytrip or overnighter around Makara/Red Rocks some weekend soon!

Can't make it this weekend as I'm busy Sat and Sun, but I'd like to do a daytrip sometime in the next couple of weeks as I won't be able to do any weekend tramps for a while as I'm working the next three Saturdays.
