    Endurance Adventure - where to start (and how to finish)

    When and where:  Thursday 15th May 7.30 to 9.30 pm at the Tararua Tramping Clubrooms in Moncreif St Mt Victoria.
     
    Cost:  Gold coin donation – proceeds go to the Wellington Ridge Runners Oxfam 100km charity walk.
     
    Format:  Talk from 8 different speakers followed by questions.  Finish up with light refreshments

    The programme is aimed at anyone interested in endurance adventures – Those new to the sport or old hands.  It will be a great opportunity to hear what some of the local experts have to say.  Don’t be shy, come along and feel free to bring a friend.
     
    Programme:  The following is a brief summary of topics and speakers

    What happens with poor preparation and decision making             Mike Sheridan (Event organiser, long time adventure runner and rogainer)

    Stories from the dead of night                                                      Jill Westenra  (Former Coast to Coast champion, Adventure racer, with a host of titles and medals),

    Nutrition – How to make it work for you                                        Dr Fiona Clendon (GP, multisporter, mountain runner and rogainer)

    Working as a team                                                                     Al Cross (Local multisport legend)

    Working through the pain                                                            Mike Sheridan

    Medication – What to take and when to take it                             Dr Fiona Clendon

    The SAR response                                                                     Sgt Jo Holden (Local multisport and adventure racing heroine with Police responsibility for SAR in Wgtn)

    Work/Life/Training balance                                                          Shane Ross (Event organiser, multisporter, adventure racer, mountain biker …where does he find the time)

    A winning CtoC training regime                                                    Fleur Pawsey (Former Coast to Coast champion, multisporter and mountain runner)

    I'd thoroughly recommend this to anyone keen to get into more endurance orientated things.  On that note there is a 24hr rogaine coming up in Taupo if the City Safari whets your appetite.
