BAAA - Newsletter of the Victoria University of Wellington Tramping Club

Volume 19, Issue 2, August 2000

Editor's Bit

Hi guys, so much has been happening in the club since the last newsletter - the mid-year tramping trip to Arthur's Pass has been and gone and lots of people have taken up the opportunity to learn some new skills with the basic AIC held recently at Ruapehu. Lots of members also gave up their time to take part in the recent SAR call out in Waikanae - thanks to those of you who did. It's excellent to see so many people getting involved and being active in all areas that the club has to offer. Thanks to everyone who has provided us with articles on the trips they have done. Not all of them are included in this newsletter (otherwise it would be about twice as long!) but they will all be included in Heels. If you have been on a trip that you enjoyed and want to tell others about - especially if it was earlier this year - please write it up and pass it on to us.

See you in the hills
Catherine & Tess

Ben, June & Richie – Tongariro Crossing

Quotes

“And looking out there to the Hawkes Bay…” - Reece demonstrates his vast geographical expertise yet again

“Glyn’s got a woody” – Glyn and his spade on AIC

June to Graham: "Did you find my undies in your car?"
Graham: "No but I found mine in the back seat".

All of the following came from the mouth of one Richard Davies:
"I've gone and overshot my rock!"
"Are we playing ten of diamonds, jack off?"
"We need something to keep it cool, or else it'll be giving head all night"
"Can I have some salt and pepper with my foot?"
