BAAA - Newsletter of the Victoria University of Wellington Tramping Club

Volume 18, Issue 3, November 1999

Editor's Bit

Hi there guys, this will be the last Baaa of 1999 and is just a small one to keep people up to date on what is going to be happening for the rest of the year. I've enjoyed putting this newsletter together this year, despite the difficulties that go with trying to extract that much sought after but rare piece of writing - the VUWTC trip report!

A big thank you to this year's committee for all the time and effort they put in to making this year an excellent tramping and climbing year. This year's AGM has been and gone and good luck to all those on the committee for next year - see page 2 for a list of the new committee for 2000 and their contact numbers.

The official tramping calendar has just about come to an end. But don't despair as there are more trips organised for the summer - see the updated trip list on page 3. There have been some changes to the last two trips - Carkeek will not be a hut maintenance trip but just a nice little jaunt into the hills, and the Leadership weekend is now on a different weekend than originally planned. There will no doubt also be heaps of private trips being run over the summer. Details of these trips will be discussed further throughout the summer at Zebos, our meeting venue over the university holidays.

In the next few weeks I will be starting to compile this year's magazine HEELS and I desperately need something to put in it, at the moment it is looking a little skeletal. If you can help by providing me with a trip report of something that you went on this year, I would really appreciate it and if you have it in Word format even better. Either bring any contributions along to meetings, e-mail it to me at catherine.moger@nz.pwcglobal.com or give me a call and I'll arrange to collect it.

Happy tramping, climbing, partying, paddling, mountain biking or whatever else you've got planned for summer. See you at Zebos!
