Old Arete Biv was in a stunning location on a bench below Mt Arete and looks into the headwaters of the Waingawa river. The spring of Arete stream issues forth in a flourish of green among the dun tussocks and is the water supply.
It was removed in 2007

'Aokap' biv is situated just inside the bush edge on the eastern side of Aokaoparangi a main range bump.
Sleeps: 2 or 3 on the floor (if you don't mind rot)
Heating: None
Camping: You could find some tent/fly spots at the bushedge or just outside the biv.

This is the new Drac Biv. It is situated on the main range between Pukematawai and Nicholls hut.
Sleeps: 2 plus one on the floor.
Heating: None
Camping: Quite limited.
