In general I like the idea of cycling to a tramp, but the 90km Renwick-St Arnaud are a horribly boring exercise for a 3 day weekend. I'd prefer to hire a car.

I like the idea. Thought to do the Tararua Northern Crossing, maybe I should come to Nelson Lakes as well.What are your plans?
