Basically there is not much more time than one week then. I vote for rock climbing, rock climbing and rock climbing! However, I have to make sure whether and when I have to go to CHCH for my measurements. 

80k's is pretty casual. My plan is to cycle around South Island from about Jan 10 till end of January. Maybe we'll meet somewhere on the road ;-) I'll post more details when the time comes. 

Heading back on the 30th sounds good. Ngaurahoe sounds pretty appealing.   Most important is climbing lots down there!

Ollie:I thought this could tie in nicely with snowcaving! Or with the BBQ that is planned up there.  However, I am keen on both trips (especially the meat-related stuff!) but I've got two left hands, if that means anything to you!
