Nice photo! I can't believe you made it up that slope with skis on - though I'm probably making it look steeper than it was... Not sure if I'll be up for climbing this weekend, my legs are pretty sore after all that skiing! Might take it easy for a bit.

Just above knoll ridge, the snow was awesome in that you could cut blocks a metre square that would hold together and form excellent roofs and walls for our snow pit/cave!

This is looking up at the saddle between Tahurangi and Te Ataahua from the Crater Lake. All the debris and tracks on the right side are from me and Ben skinning and then climbing up the steep soft snow to the saddle. The small avalanche centre left was triggered by me skiing down - you can see my tracks come out about halfway down on the right... ...
