    A nice little biv that nestles off the side of the main Ruahine range south of Totara spur. Sleeps: Two or three Heating: None Camping: None in the leatherwood around the biv, however in fine weather you could camp on the main range itself, there are abundant tarns in this area.

    A tidy six bunk hut on a high terrace above the lower Mangatera. Sleeps: Six bunks Heating: A corker cooker Camping: Yes some around the hut.&nbsp; Watch out for the rubbish pit and wasps!

    Daphne hut is a quirky but somewhat charmless A-Frame at a major junction in the Tukituki river. Sleeps: 12 or so on two bench bunks Heating: A nice little pot belly Camping: Yes some around the hut - but it doesn't get a lot of sun

    I always fancy the slap of leather on willow, but looking at this forecast the covers might be on the pitch by sunday morning, and it'll be cucumber sandwiches and tea in the Long Room. That's a real shame, especially as I am far too old for binge drinking.
