I feel similar. It will be unpredictable Tararua weather. There are chances for awesome views :-)

I would propose to walk from Waiohine Car Park to Cone and then we have the choice:

• Via Cone Ridge to Totara Flats Hut and the Waiohine Valley back
• To Mt Hector via Winchcomb Peak and back
• or similar...
