This weekend we have Monday, so a long weekend.  One of the planned trips for this weekend is to Mt Taranaki.  We will aim to go to the summit (depending on the weather) and depending how we get on with time,  walk around the mountain or part of the way around it.

As we may encounter snow/ice, so we will bring crampons and ice axes (the club will supply crampons and ice axes).  Some experience in winter conditions using crampons and ice axes is required for this trip.  If you are not sure, send me an email/talk to me at the meeting and we will make a judgement.  Depending on who is interested in coming, we may be able to have a quick lesson on how to use crampons and ice axes on the Saturday morning
