This weekend are going to Mt Hector. On a clear day, Mt Hector has clear views over Wellington and the South Island. This will be a full day of walking.
We will meet at Hunter Carpark at 9am on Saturday.
Half of the day will be spent above the bushline, so warm clothes are necessary (polypro, gloves, hat, raincoat, etc. If you have overtrousers, bring them as well). On bushcraft, some of the group worked up a sweat getting to Kime Hut, so some dry hut clothes will make the trip more enjoyable too. As usual, bring a headlight/torch in case we take a bit longer than expected.
Email me if you are keen. Also let me know if you can drive. I don't have a car, so if no one can provide transport, then we will do the southern walkway between Karori and Johnsonville.
Thanks,
Mike
