A January trip to Matiu/Somes

Jo Greenman has just told me about an extra opportunity to visit the island.

She is organising a 5 day mixed volunteer group from Jan 5th -9th for up to

10 people. She currently has 4 people signed up.

You can come for 2 to 5 days during that time, which ever suits you. The group

stays in Education house and undertakes a variety of jobs all week which

may include painting, weeding, digging, track and drain clearing,

mulching, beach clean etc. You have to bring your own food and cover the cost of the ferry trip.

There is no charge for the Accommodation.

Regular Karobusters

There will be four regular Karobusters trips in calendar 2009 – with DoC paying for dinner, breakfast, ferry and accommodation as usual.

The first trip is 14-15 February and is currently full – I will email those involved after Christmas to get final confirmation of attendance.

The second trip is 4-5 April and is half full – let me know if you are interested.

The remaining trips are 16-17 May and 19-20 September. Please note that these dates have changed from those first planned. Please let me know if you would like a place on one or both of these trips.
