Hello,

 I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a trip to help with the blue duck and kiwi conservation efforts at Blue Duck Lodge which is located in the Ruapehu District on the banks of the Whanganui and Retaruke Rivers. They are looking for people to do such things as checking stoat traps, working on tramping tracks, monitoring blue duck and kiwi. And they are always looking for people with kyacks to monitor blue duck. I am not to sure how plausible this is as I don't know that area of the river that well, or exactly what is involved, but a blue duck monitoring tubing trip sounds like a good idea... I have heard that there has been a blue duck monitoring trip a few years back that sounded quite epic, and I am keen to run one, especialy as I have never seen a blue duck!
