Righto here we go – It is time for mid week madness. It wont be too mad due to this other thing called mid week laziness. But it will be fun and it will be in the hills and could progress into Madness
So here is the plan:
Kaukau and parts of skyline
Meeting 6:15 pm End of Clark Street Khandallah
We are going to meet at the end of Clark street in Khandallah Clarke street is near Regans but instead of turning off to Glentui (Regans driveway) keep your foot firmly planted on the accelerator until you hit a turning circle with trees in the middle – steer to avoid the trees and park somewhere not in the trees but that is optional. http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
Getting there
To avoid 10 people turning up in 10 different cars there is a salad of transport options available.
- I have my car in town and will be leaving about 5:30pm if anyone wants a lift – I can drop people back in afterwards
- There is the magic train Johnsonville line get off at box hill
- Some others will bring cars so if you need a lift let me know
- Regan you can walk!
Plan
Option 1:
This is the more lazy of options. Start at Truscott ave in Johnsonville and walk over Kaukau to Clarke street
Option 2:
Not as lazy, Start at Clarke street end up at Heke street for drinks
Option 3:
Getting not so lazy, Start at Karori and walk to Clarke street
Option 4:
Put on camo face paint and clothing, Arrive flying in formation into Wilton bush in an Iroquois helicopter (it may look like a laser but we will ignore that) jump out, roll around in the bush then go looking for Charlie. Where and when we come out will be unknown and there may be some heavy losses.
What you will need
Clothes preferable – Actually it is a really good idea to have warm clothes and a rain coat because there is pretty good ventilation up there
Head torch – although given history this seems to be optional for people who’s name begins with C.
Food wine beer spirits – could have some sort of picnic up there looking at the nice view.
Anyway let me know if you are coming or need a lift or turn up at 6:15 Clark street
