I thought this sounded fun, too bad I have an exam Friday I have to study for! It would be great if you could make it though!
From Mr. Freeze:
Hi friends
Looking forward to the Big Freeze tomorrow? Here's everything you need to know:
Where? The corner of Lambton Quay and Featherston/Hunter Streets. The shapeshifting green sculpture outside Keith Matheson is our centrepoint. Spread yourselves around this. We'll need to sprawl towards Starbucks and down Hunter Street. We'll also need to spread over the other side of the bus lane (but not ON the bus lane!) either side of the public toilets on Featherston/Lambton. Hey presto, we're making triangles! If you're daring, you can freeze on the Dymocks side of Lambton Quay, but brace yourself for speeding pedestrians.
For a map see http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=hunter+street+and+lambton+quay+wellington&ie=UTF8&ll=-41.285297,174.775752&spn=0.001665,0.003648&t=h&z=18
Freeze etiquette: Please leave space for non-freezers to stream through and keep well away from the curbs/traffic. Safety first.
When? Tomorrow (Thursday) at 12:45pm. Start milling nearby 5 minutes earlier and give your fellow freezers a conspiring wink. When you hear the saxophone, that's your cue: you know what to do. You can synchronise your watch here: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_NZ.aspx
Who? You! And over 200 other people who have RSVP'd. Pass it on to make it bigger.
How? Freeze how you like, but fix your gaze on something and keep breathing.
How do I know when to unfreeze? When the saxophone sounds again, resume motion. Enjoy the music and Smile - you've Done Good.
Thanks for taking 5 on June 5 to support World Environment Day in NZ. I look forward to seeing you all there.
Yours,
Mr Freeze
