Billi Awards - calling for nominations

It is that time of the year again. It is time for the VUWTC’s prestigious award ceremony known commonly as the Billi awards

There is a significant amount of history behind these awards but if want details other that to just pay tribute to the fact that there is a long history you may need to ask someone with a beard. But in short they are called the billi awards because the awards were engraved (along with the winners of the awards on the side of our club billi’s. Due to billi’s no longer being in the abundance that they were in the lat 1980’s and gear custodians grumpy we now just imagine that the awards are engraved on the side of billi’s borrow the name billi for the award ceremony.

The categories for the billi awards are:

    • Tramper of the year
    • Most promising new member
    • Most Geographically embarrassed
    • Piker of the year
    • Climber of the year
    •

What we need are nominations and reasons for the nomination. Don't be afraid to supply evidence, pictures speak 1000 words. So do bandaged heads. So get nominating! Nominations are allowed to be warped, twisted, spiteful or even lame.

Reply to me using the contact – send email as we would want the recipients to be surprised and overjoyed at their award

The awards will be presented at next Tuesdays dinner.

    See you all there
