Hello, some of you may have heard that there is some quite classic climbing at Managatepopo in Tongariro National park. I have certainly heard this rumour too. So I have constructed a very loose plan to go to Mangatepopo this coming weekend 14/15 to do some climbing and have a go at some of those classic routes. From what I have heard of Managatepopo the climbs are not all that difficult they are just really big and scary. But of course this is all alleged as I have not actually been there. I have however hit a couple of hurdles which I hope someone could help me out with.
I am wondering it there is anyone out there who
- Can lend me some trad gear (cams wires hexes etc)
- Wants to come along
- Has some experience in the area and more experience than me
- Has any words of wisdom
It is a very loose plan at the moment and even if it doesn’t happen this weekend, I would be really keen to make my way up there at some stage.
