Want to go to my first snow this year! 
(As usual) Metservice is pretty undecided about this weekend - so it is not clear what we can do over the bush line/snow line - so here is my dream:
Take a car to Pak&Save on Friday (June 15th) and start walking from The Pines/Masterton at 8PM. - We should make it to Mitre Flats Hut before 11PM.
Saturday and Sunday, we will see what we can do:
Up to Mitre - the highest peak in the Tararuas (medium) have a snow fight
or doing a loop over the Kings (medium fit)...
or having a stroll to Cow Creek Hut/Atiwhakatu Hut (medium easy)
or walking up to Arete Forks ... and away... (fit)
or enjoying the hut 
Mitre Flats hut (DOC, 3 tickets) is a pretty flash one, with heating/cooking. The track to the hut is (in principle) medium easy, but leaving on Friday I won't be too slow and it will be dark!
We'll come back on Sunday, June 17th late afternoon.
Just sign up (give some hints, what you are up to...) and I'll sort something out on Thursday noon.
