Weather looks perfect! Why not doing the Jumbo-Holdsworth (or Holdsworth-Jumbo) Circuit as over-night trip?
For sure, it is a classical Tararua trip! Ask google and you will get hundreds of descriptions...
Trip start: Saturday (Jan 28th) 9ish, end: Sunday (Jan 29th) afternoon.
I tend to Jumbo Hut for the night from Saturday to Sunday, as Powell Hut is often crowded and needs reservation.
Trip grade: it is a medium trip, (very honest) 1000m of altitude have to be climbed up (Saturday) and down (Sunday).
