Again, we're here with another trip to the wild NZ country bushy as... :D

This weekend, we are running a trip to Ruahines forest park. Ruahines is the FP next door after Tararuas FP. It's a great area with heaps of wild life, hills, valleys and everything that a good outdoorsy person could desire...

The weather looks good so far, so we will follow the good weather plan.

Which is...

Friday - Leave hunter car park around 5.30 - 6 PM at latest. We are stopping for shopping and dinner on the way. We are staying at Heritage lodge on Friday night. It's a short walk to the hut (30-45 minutes) and we should be there by midnight at latest.

Saturday - We will follow the track up to Tunupo and head south to Toka peak. There we head down the valley to Leon Kinvig hut.We are staying there on Saturday night.

Sunday - We  take the same way out. we sould be back around 8PM on Sunday, maybe a bit later.

If, for some reason, the weather becomes grumpy. We will follow plan B which is...

On Saturday, instead of going up to the tops and to Leon Kinvig hut, we will follow the river to Iron Gate hut and cross the top to the next valley to Top gorge hut. It will less tops.
