V1.01�https://old.vuwtc.org.nz:443/cs/photos/clendon/images/72/original.aspxThu, 02 Nov 2006 17:20:00 GMT16d72366-88ed-474a-b0cc-65d60f7c13e3:72benMhttps://old.vuwtc.org.nz:443/cs/blogs/clendon/archive/2006/11/02/Tramping-in-the-Kawekas.aspxThu, 02 Nov 2006 17:11:00 GMT16d72366-88ed-474a-b0cc-65d60f7c13e3:71ben<p>Our first blog on the vuwtc website must inevitably be about tramping.&nbsp; </p><p>We had a nice trip in the Kawekas at Labour weekend.&nbsp; A crew of 8 headed up to Middle Hill Hut then over the tops to Tira Lodge for the night.&nbsp; Some of the group were eager for a mission, so Richie, Hannah and Joe headed west off the ridge in search of bush, bivs, and rivers.&nbsp; The rest of the group made a&nbsp;beeline for the hot pools and that trout that would fit perfectly in my belly.</p><p>There were a few people at the hot springs, but not quite the crowds we were expecting.&nbsp; The rain through the night seemed to flush most people away, and we were alone in the campsite when we finally got out of pit.</p><p>Long drive home.</p>
