Its usually filled with rubbish and is something of an eyesore. Its sits on the ridge that joins Parks Peak to the main range at the head of the Makaroro. When I was a student back in the late 70s I used this hut often to hunt from. Back then it was still a FS hut and had an open fire. These 4 bunk FS huts were very well built and I am sure with some TLC this hut should last many more years. Ironically the old name for this hut was Hut Ruin</p>
