I've got a vague crazy idea of doing a Carkeek picnic this weekend, probably on Saturday. For the uninformed, this involves a one day crossing of the Tararuas via Carkeek Hut in the middle and will definetely be more of a running trip... probably best with 2-3 people though can always have a couple of groups if more are keen. Transport is a bit difficult with a crossing, so let me know also if you are up for an easy daytrip in the Ohau or Holdsworth areas to help get us there and back :)

I'll be at the pub tonight to discuss!

Cheers,
