If you have paid club dues you may be able to borrow some club gear, but you will need go give a deposit and sign gear in and out with a gear custodian (contact info through the committee link on the Home page).

Best bet though is to get set up with your own gear. your club card and FMC card will get you discounts at most of the major outdoors stores in town, and there are lots, just look them up in the phone book. Boots you will definitly have to buy though you could do the able tasman in running shoes no prob, not sure about the heaphy.

If you need a ride to motueka let me know, i will possibly have room in my car on my way to takaka for the holidays.

Hope that helps, -Jess

Renting Gear

i am planning a trip down to abel tasman followed by the heaphy track for the uni holidays, does any one know of a place in town that i can rent a tent and sleeping pack (can you even do that)? also, where are the best laces in town for purchasing tramping boots since mine got messed up in the midwinter christmas tramp.
