This from an email I received from MSC Wellington:

The evening is really a basic lesson/overview in the avalanche area. The evening will be presented by Steve Schreiber (MSC Avalanche Programme Manager), with a talk from Jamie Fitzgerald (current record holder for crossing the Atlantic and has recently completed expedition to South Pole). We do have spot prizes of equipment from Black Diamond and vouchers to attend Avalanche Courses.

MSC doing Avalance Awareness Evening at Turnbull House

On Monday 9^th June Mountain Safety Council will be holding an Avalanche Awareness evening at Turnbull House. MSC also runs Avalanche courses around the country from late July. As part of this evening we will have a guest speaker as well as spot prizes. Further details of this later in the month. Please mark this date in your calendar now – it would be good to see VUWTC people attend like last year.
