Yep no problemos - I was thinking of leaving from town around 10am or so anyway so could you meet up at uni shortly after that?

For anyone else interested in coming we should have 2 cars leaving at 10ish on Saturday from Hunter Carpark (behind big brick building at Vic Uni Kelburn Campus). Let me know though so we can make sure theres enough spaces! Also if you have any gear, specially ropes then bring it. The clubs got helmets and a few harnesses we can lend people if required.

The climbs are sheltered from the south so shouldn't be too windy, but yes could be chilly so bring some warm clothes! For people making their own way there can meet at the Khandallah (Simla Cres) entrance to Kaukau around 10.30-11am?

I think theres some 14-15's there plus one or two harder lines if you want a challenge!

Hey fellow! I will be really keen to join u, and I am sure my partner will be happy to come along as well. It will be her first time outdoors.

Only qtn is, can we borrow helmets from the club? We r not members btw.

Kieran, we could fit in ur car :)

Also, Katya (my partner) can climb up to 17. Would there be much for her to have a go? I can do 19 with confidence, but can’t lead :(

We got all our other gear, incl shoes, harness and carabiners.

Oh yeah and to add to the drama, I got a commitment till 10am, so... will this be too late???

She’ll be a cold morning by the looks of it :s

I'm keen! Weather looking a bit better now too so should be good - I can transport 4ish people from round town area up to Khandallah if you don't want to walk :)

Still got to walk up the hill though, my cars not that good!

Kaukau rock climbing - this saturday

There is a smallish crag up the top of Kaukau (it is the hill with the big mast on it when you look from the city). This Saturday I am thinking of heading up there to do a bit of climbing. It is roughly 30mins walk to the crag and there is a variety of grades there some bolted, some you can top rope and if you are keen some you can trad climb, good chance to do some outdoor rock! In Wellington!
