Now the important details:

Meeting at 9am at Hunter Carpark on Saturday for both those coming for the day and those coming for the weekend.

$15 for transport

Bring your normal tramping gear (especially raincoat and torch - even if you are only coming for the day), lunch, breakfast. We will stop briefly at Pac N Save on the way to sort out group dinners.

......If you have a compass, bring that too!

On Bushcraft we will cover the important skills to help you survive in the outdoors. The main focus will be on navigation, but we will cover other things like using the club cookers, pitching flies, etc. We will base ourselves at Otaki Forks and venture into the hills each day. The idea will be to teach the skills in the morning and then send groups off into the hills to navigate and make decisions for themselves with guidance when necessary from group leaders.

There is also the possibility of doing this as a day trip as long as we can get enough cars and drivers who want to only be there for the day.

No previous experience is required.
