Father Christmas is on holiday here from the Norther Hemisphere and forgot to bring his suit! He is thus wondering if anyone has one he can borrow, as he has heared he will be needed for some out of season action on the weekend at Totara Flats.

He is having some technical difficulties and that is why one of his elves is writting this.

THIS WEEKENDS XMAS TRIP DETAILS

If you havnt signed up sorry its too late we have filled up all our transport. But if you have a car come along.

Due to our large group we are now going to Totora flats hut from the Waiohine road end.

We are leaving at 9.00am on saturday from the Hunter Carpark. If you havnt paid you need to bring your $25 along or you wont be able to come.

Gear

-Waterproof jacket, coat

-thermal underwear - woollen, or polypropolene

-beanie/ warm hat

-Sleeping bag

-plate/ bowl/ cutlery

-back pack to carry everything in

-woolen or polar fleece jersey / sweater

- snacks and your food

-DO not bring a cotton hoodie, it might get wet and then it is useless and very heavy.

Groups

You have been put in groups - by the car you will head up in. your group leader has been given your contact details and will contact you before the trip to tell you what group food you will need, and to check you have the correct clothing and gear.

Food

You will need to bring:

your own breakfast food for sunday

you own food for lunch for sunday

Your driver will stop to let you buy some lunch on the drive up to the carpark (probably at petone or thorndon)

some food towards dinner on saturday - your trip leader will contact you thursday or wednesday

Directions

SH2 to Greytown

through grey town and then over the bridge

then left to Waiohine gorge - look for signs
